The trio was formed in 2013 by the three experienced musicians coming from different backgrounds. Aldo Mella's firm pulse has been absolutely pivotal to the Turin's jazz scene since the 1980's. Aldo has performed, toured and recorded with many American stars, such as Charlie Mariano, Stanley Jordan and many others. He is a member of various groups of the renowned pianist Franco D'Andrea, touring worldwide.Elio Rivagli was a percussionist at the Turin Philharmonic Orchestra. He grew up in the same jazz environment and teamed with Aldo, becoming a studio musician in great demand, touring and recording with the most successful Italian and international artists. Daniele D'Agaro spent 16 years in the Netherlands as a member of the most representative bands of the often explosive scene, mixing jazz and improvised music, performing and recording with artists such as Benny Bailey, Han Bennink and many others. Back home in Udine, Italy, he won the Top Jazz Award as the best Italian reed player in 2007 and 2008.
Music presented on this cd is a result of their encounter- their playlist is wide open, including compositions by Leadbelly, Charlie Mariano, south African sax player Sean Bergin, and many originals.
They share enthusiasm for music and adventure through the spirit of improvisation.
